I don’t wanna write.
But I’ll do it anyway. Or at least something that resembles writing. I’m very tired and I have a week of medical testing coming up. Yays. I’m actually kinda looking forward to some of it, which is weird. Not the needles, though. I’m not afraid of needles, just not fond of them. The uncomfortable feeling and the pain is fine, I’m just not fond of them. Especially the automated injection during an MRI. I’ve been thinking about my struggle to show myself love and kindness. It isn’t easy when I’m depressed as I have been this past week. Even without…

Babies are sooooo cute!!
I got to hang out with a couple of babies today. My sister and I drove a few hours to attend a baby shower. My sister slept for most of the drive and I got to finish my audiobook of Mockingjay. Overall, the trip was quite lovely. Sidenote: Now that I’ve finished reading The Hunger Games trilogy, I’m going to watch the four movies back-to-back. The baby was there as well as another baby and they were incredibly cute! Both Rebeckah and I got to hold the baby. And—I know this is a tad cliché—I was amazed at how small…

Some jokes, tweets, and poems.
Some jokes! What is it called when Batman leaves church early? Christian Bale. How do you put a baby alien to sleep? You rocket. Knock-Knock Jokes The person who invented knock-knock jokes deserves a “no-bell” prize. What did the grape say when it was squeezed? Nothing. It just gave out a little wine. What did the house wear to the party? Address. Frog parking only! All others will be toad. I walk Five Miles every day. My dog’s name is Five Miles. I told a chemistry joke once. I got no reaction. Some tweets! The best use of pie charts…

Karaoke thoughts.
Social anxiety. I have to deal with it a lot. Especially this week, probably prompted by the depression. On top of that, I still don’t feel very comfortable here in Vancouver outside of my house (yet). I have a few places that I hang out, but still. I’m watching a bunch of people singing karaoke right now. It’s fun! I want to join in, but I’m not feeling very adventurous so I’ll just watch and laugh. 🙃 I know I shouldn’t be searching for reasons to isolate myself and such…yada yada Yoda… But I don’t care. Actually, I do care,…

It was fun!
I watched It tonight with a new friend at the theatre and it was amazing! Lots of scary and freaky which I love every now and again! We got the d-box seats (the seats with motors and stuff inside so you get rocked around as the movie plays—perfect for jump scares!) which added to the fun! Hope you had fun today! M3

Honestly, I don’t know.
I have no clue what I’m doing right now. The past several days have been a bit rough for me. Depression is lingering which is always— Gah… I’ve rewritten this post several times already. I don’t know what to write and I don’t even know exactly what I’m feeling. After being sick for most of the summer, it has been great to feel normal physically as well as mentally. But now it feels like I’m going back in a way, even though my body is doing mostly fine. I’m not gonna go on for too much longer as I really…

More Goals!
Last Monday I posted a few goals for the rest of my week. How about we check in and see how I did then set some more? Last Week’s Goals – Report Card Bedtime – C I did a good job getting to sleep before midnight Monday to Friday last week. But as you know, I’ve been having insomnia since then. The weekend was especially bad. I can’t help what my body’s doing as far as being able sleep, but I’m still trying to get back to an earlier bedtime without pushing myself too much. Food Diary – F I…

I’ll post more tomorrow.
This is an incomplete post. I’ll fix it tomorrow.

I have insomnia.
I couldn’t sleep for hours last night. Eventually I did fall asleep, but then I remained asleep longer than I wanted. Much longer. I woke up at four in the afternoon and didn’t do anything that I had intended to do which is frustrating. I’ve also been feeling… somewhat down because of Crohn’s stuff today. Nothing too bad, but still. Tonight I went to Dinner & Death—a weekly event with a group of nerds at a cafe up the road—and with Game of Thrones having concluded, we started a new series; American Horror Story: Cult. I haven’t watched any of…

Editing the podcast.
Everyone already knows this, but I co-host a podcast with Ryan Matlock called The Aux Cable. We were ticking along releasing a new episode each week until the summer hit bringing with it illness and busy-ness for us both. So the show ended up slipping for a little more than two-ish months while we focused on life’s bumps. Last week we released a brand new episode that explained our absence to our audience as well as promising new episodes coming on a weekly basis once again. That’s why I’ve been working to edit our next episode that we actually recorded…

Wait…it’s Wednesday already?!
I’m stating the obvious here, but this past weekend was a long weekend, Labour Day weekend to be precise. So Tuesday felt like Monday and today felt like Tuesday. I’m sure that many others are feeling this right now. I’ve been listening to podcasts all day — primarily Anna Faris is Unqualified — and I heard an interesting discussion that gave me an idea for this blog post. Now that I sit in front of my computer to actually write, I can’t recall what that was at all. I’m just drawing a blank. I glanced up at the time and was legitimately…

WDIDTW?
What did I do this weekend? Thanks for asking! It’s not really something that I can discuss at length, but… I can make an exception for you. 😜 My friend Sarah came up from the states to explore the area with me. We wanted to have one last weekend of camping and hiking before the summer ends, which is kind of a freaky thought, right? How’s it already the month of September?! Anyway, we made these plans for the weekend. It all started Friday evening. We met for dinner at the mall then spent the evening chatting with my aunt,…

Let’s get it started!
It’s Monday!! Let’s do a motivational goal setting post. Bedtime Alrighty, so this week’s main goal is to go to bed at a more consistent time before midnight. I’ve done that (for one night) so far, which is great! Now to keep it going. Food Diary It’s not overly important that I track what I eat these days, but it could be helpful. I’ve found a format that works for me and isn’t too intensive to maintain. Eventually I’d like to build an app that’s specifically intended for Crohn’s patients that are tracking food to develop their safe food lists.…

I don’t like when Sarah counts sheep.
Actually, I don’t care. She can do whatever. I wrote that because she was looking over my shoulder. We’re at a campground in majestic Squamish, BC. There were only two tent pads remaining when we arrived, which made us really happy because we didn’t want to find another campground after all the searching for this one we did. I was just wondering what it would be like if the Borg were to invade Earth at this very moment. Right here in BC in this spot. I’d probably turn off the light then hide in my sleeping bag and let everyone…

To Grandmother’s house we go!
Over the river and through the woods then over the log, across the bridge, down the valley, over the mountain, under the bar stool, in the suitcase, onto the airplane, lost over seas, into the wind, down the stairs, around the block, then back into bed, I don’t know where to go! I have no clue. M3

We’re gonna camp this weekend!
It’s been a busy day, so this is just an update post. My friend Sarah is visiting so we can get some last-minute camping in before she gets busy with an apprenticeship and while the weather is nice for it. We have a list of hikes to do and places to see over the long weekend and it’s gonna be great! Some of these places have been on my “to hike/see” list for a while, so I’m glad to be crossing them off. I’m also hoping that we’ll get some nice pictures of everything. Yay! We released a new episode…

Hello, Goodbye
It’s the end of August. First, congrats on still being alive! Yay for not dying even though the chances increase every day! I’m inclined to do a review of the past month, but I’d rather be more creative than that. At least I included a semi-relevant Beatles song. I get points for that, right? Note to self: Check on the points situation. How about I share two “three things” lists? One will be Favourite Moments of August 2017, the other is Stuff that I’m Looking Forward to in September 2017. Sound good? Let’s do it! Favourite Moments of August 2017…

Homesick.
I’m feeling homesick tonight, and thusly I don’t want to write anything. Lame, I know. Have a lovely night, everyone! M3
