I have been working with WordPress (an open source website platform) for years and I’ve been wanting to get more involved with the development community for most of that time. Today, I was able to join a WordPress meetup to discuss some upcoming changes in the platform with other WordPress folks. It was a blast! The discussion was great, the group format was very engaging, and I made some new connections.This

This specific WordPress group meets a couple times a month to do whatever with WordPress. I was made aware of it a few weeks ago and I’ve been itching to go ever since. In fact, I almost went to the meetup last Wednesday when it was happening this Wednesday!

At the end of the meeting, one of the other attendees said that when she first moved to the area she joined the WordPress group right away and was able to make a lot of connections through the group. So I’m sure this will be a good thing for me.

Yay for progress!

Tomorrow evening I’m going to a game night. We’ll see what happens!
